Because I am by nature a contrary person. I threw aside my Ravelympics project and finished my Cable Down Raglan.
I'm quite pleased with this sweater. The size is just right. I anticipated the correct amount of relaxation upon blocking so it was just a little snug on me before it hit the water bath. I was worried about the neck line being a little wavy, but it is perfect after a light block.
This yarn has been marinating for a few years. It's Rowan Pure Wool DK from an Elann closeout. I made the size 38 chest and used exactly 9 balls. I've got 4 left over for a matching hat/mittens or whatnot.

The first picture where I'm trying to smooth my hair when the timer went off shows the correct color.

You did such an amazing job! I love it!
It looks great! I have downloaded this pattern but wasn't too sure about doing cables while knitting in the round, I am currently knitting my first jumper in the round, but I think I will give it a go next.
I noted this on my Ravelry entry, but I thought I should leave a note here too. There is an error on the main cable chart in the version of the pattern that is included in the 5 reader favorites pdf from interweave. I never went back and checked to see if the error was just in this version or if it was in the magazine as well.
Several stitches are marked as knits that should be purls on what would be a wrong side row of the pattern. It's pretty obvious, but if anybody needs help spotting it just ask. I don't have the chart in front of me right now to be more exact. I downloaded the pdf version while it was still free, so the error may also have been corrected by now.
What a stunning sweater, and wonderful knitting!
Oh my - it is so beautiful and the fit is perfect.
That looks great on you.
