Central Park Hoodie, Fall 2006 Knit Scene
Yarn: Cotton-Ease
Needles: US 5 & 7
Size: 36"
Knitting time 2 weeks, with a little sock knitting as well.

I'm so pleased with how this turned out. I just love it. What a fun and nicely written pattern. I love how the shoulders fit, this was probably my best fitted sleeve ever. Not to mention my first sewn in sleeve period in many a moon, I've been making so many raglans of late.

Do you like how Michael took the back picture shooting up from the ground so I look like a linebacker?? boys. hrmph.

I plan on getting back to my lace scarf tomorrow, I'm just about ready to knit on the second border. I could easily have it done in time for Summerstar if I work on it this weekend. Yes, the malabrigo is still calling me, which is good because this scarf has been sleeping for too long.

Happiness

is finishing your new cotton hoodie,
deciding to block it before you sew in the zipper...
soak it in ice cold water for 10 minutes in the sweltering kitchen*

and realizing that perhaps it would be best to just block this sucker on it's intended wearer, as the yarn is hardy and unlikely to be hurt by this.**

Ahhhhhhhhhhh

I'm so blessedly content, it's probably illegal in the red states ;)

Now I see why that crazy survival guy said that wet cotton is much worse than standing around naked in freezing conditions, I feel like the heat is just being sucked out of me.

Okay, people from places where it's hot all the time can now proceed to laugh at my amazing discovery :P

*(for the record, the Seattle area is not supposed to be 95, so no one has air conditioning)
**and yes, I'm probably anti blocking it ;)
